I’m Edward Michel, the Inspector General. That means my role is to lead the OIG and ensure we fulfill our mission. The City of New Orleans Ethics Review Board named me the Inspector General in 2021. I am a native New Orleanian and am proud and honored to serve you and all residents of New Orleans.

Before I became Inspector General, I acted as the First Assistant Inspector General for Criminal Investigations and IT Program Manager for the OIT. Prior to that, I served in the United States Department of Justice (USDOJ) for over 23 years.
