Bidders steering clear of New Orleans city contracts, shrinking competition, OIG finds

Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s administration has frequently failed to attract enough bidders for private contracts to do city work and in some instances hasn’t followed policy in dealing with the problem, according to a new report from Inspector General Ed Michel’s office.
