The New Orleans Office of Inspector General is urging city leaders to reconsider increasing pay and staffing for New Orleans Emergency Medical Services after finding response times for some of the most serious medical calls fell short of standards.
In a public letter released Thursday, the OIG said its upcoming audit found NOEMS did not meet industry response-time standards for emergencies requiring both patient transportation and Advanced Life Support. The full audit is set for release April 16.
